this is how I am feeling today

Friday 4 Mar 11

I am feeling very good. I had a surprise day off which was nice. I am working on a personal film project with my dear friend Ned that is going really well and is also very theraputic at the same time. I am also writing a sort of memoir thing. I normally hate the way that autobiographies and memoirs start with 'I was born in..' and 'my great-grand-parents were...'. I mean, who cares? And also can't you just let us find out that sort of stuff on the way to finding out more about the real reason we wanted to read this book in the first place, i.e. you?!

So I am not doing that. I recently read Tennessee Williams' memoir, which is very rambly and stream of conciousnessy and, frankly, a little too far the other way. I love the dreaminess and drugginess of his later plays (I saw The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore the other day), but I sort of like a bit more structure when it comes to his life. Anyway, I am calling what I am writing a book of memoiries

I did a photo shoot with my old friend Steve Vacciarello last week and he sent me the results today. This is one of the shots that I really like, and it is kind of how I am feeling right now.
