in 1991, I played Bernard in Bernard and.the Genie, a film written by Richard Curtis and directed by Paul Weiland. Lenny Henry was the Genie and Rowan Atkinson played Bernard’s evil boss.
Thirty-two years later, Bernard and the Genie was remade, again writtren by Richard Curits but this time directed by Sam Boyd and starring Melissa McCarthy as the Genie and Paapa Essiedu starred as Bernard.
This time I played Bernard’s evil boss! You know you’e old when…! Also it was 32 years since I had played Bernard, and Paapa was 32 when he played him!
